Party mascot Sir Francis Galton,  a cousin of Charles Darwin,  discovered the forensic value of fingerprints. Born near Birmingham, England, on February 16, 1822, this British polymath made significant contributions in several sciences including statistics, psychology, genetics,  and meteorology.

Whether speaking at TED South by Southwest, the World Economic Forum (Davos), the World Science Festival, or on CBS This Morning about the “Clooney Effect,” Dr. Fisher is asked to give her views on why we fall in love, stay in love, why we cheat, and what love does to us. Join us on January 11, as Dr. Fisher talks about her work, answers questions from the audience, and signs books that will be available for discount purchase.

Dr. Fisher is the author of many books about dating and romance including Anatomy of Love: A Natural History of Mating, Marriage, and Why We Stray, a contemporary classic about love which was first published in 1992 and was completely revised and updated in 2016.

Helen Fisher, PhD, is a biological anthropologist and senior research fellow at the Kinsey Institute. She studies the evolution, brain systems (fMRI) and cross-cultural patterns of romantic love, mate choice, marriage, adultery, divorce, gender differences in the brain, personality/temperament, business personalities and the biology of leadership styles. She has written five internationally best-selling books and served as chief scientific advisor to and their subsidiary, She designed the questionnaire now taken by 13 million singles in 40 countries. She lectures worldwide; among her speeches are those at the World Economic Forum at Davos, the 2012 international meeting of the G-20, the National Academy of Sciences, The Economist, TED, United Nations, Smithsonian Institution, Salk Institute, Harvard Medical School, American Association for the Advancement of Science and The Aspen Institute. For her work in the media and the business community, Helen received the American Anthropological Association’s “Distinguished Service Award.” (See
