Wanted: Science Writer/Reporter for January 16 & 17 Workshop on Transcription
Location : High Q Foundation Office – 350 Seventh Avenue, Suite 601, New York, NY 10001
posting : High Q Foundation Workshop – Transcriptional Disruption in the Pathogenesis of Huntington Disease.
*Tuesday and Wednesday, January 16 & 17, 2007
Recent reports have identified a number of ways in which mutant Huntingtin may contribute to transcriptional dysregulation in HD, including interactions with RNA polymerase, modulation of transcription by factors such as CREB/CBP, NFκB and p53, and chromatin structure. The purpose of this workshop is to discuss how further studies of these and other aspects of transcription could best contribute to understanding HD pathogenesis and in particular to identifying possible therapeutic targets. The workshop will bring together some 10-12 researchers as well as 4-5 scientists from the High Q Foundation and CHDI.
We will begin each day at 8:30am with continental breakfast and meet until around 5:00pm. Lunch will be provided. There will be a special group dinner on Tuesday evening after the workshop.
The fee for this job is $1,500 per day ($3,000 total). Travel and lodging expenses (if necessary) will be covered/reimbursed. A first draft of the workshop report is expected within 4 weeks.
