Join SWINY at Stony Brook University’s Manhattan campus for a forensic investigation
Former Suffolk County forensic scientist Jeanne Guglielmo and molecular biologist Joan Kiely will talk about real cases. They will show you how to use sophisticated scientific instruments to unravel complicated crime scenes. Among the techniques with which you’ll have a chance to work:
- Gel electrophoresis
- DEA crime scene detection kit (for saliva, blood and drugs)
- Microscopic analysis of crime scene evidence
