TITLE: Senior Acquisitions Editor
REPORTS TO: VP, Publisher Pharmaceutical Science
Pharmaceutical Science Acquisitions/Editorial Department of a New
York Publishing Group serving the life science and medical markets seeks a dynamic acquisitions editor to develop and manage complete portfolio of book publications in pharmaceutical science/clinical toxicology. This includes developing portfolio and scope coupled with aggressive acquisition skills.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Commission 12-15+ high quality information products annually
- Manage backlist titles to ensure timely revisions and steady income streams
- Support development of quality submission editorial in conformance with contractual specifications
- Manage program portfolio to achieve revenue and profit targets
- Analyze customer and market trends to ensure products are launched successfully
- Develop strong network with key opinion leaders to drive highest quality content acquisition
- Travel as required

QUALIFICATIONS
- BA/BS or equivalent experience. Science or related fields a plus
- Five+ years acquisitions or related publishing experience
- Excellent analytical skills
- Strong commercial and communication skills
