Copy Supervisor Requirements
Copy Supervisors must have excellent presentation skills, previous direct-to-physician experience, and the ability to understand and process healthcare information. They must also possess excellent management and mentoring skills. Portfolios should demonstrate strong conceptual abilities, standout creative thinking, and exceptional writing skills. Copy Supervisors should also have the ability to present and sell ideas internally and to clients confidently and enthusiastically.
Candidates must be team-oriented, able to write solid, intelligent, brand-appropriate and creative pieces in a variety of basic communication forms (sales aids, resource guides) for a variety of audiences (healthcare professionals, patients, consumers), and demonstrate solid leadership abilities. The Copy Supervisor is the brand expert and champion who solves the strategic and copy issues with the client and enhances the client’s confidence in the company.
Candidates should possess the ability to give strong clear direction and supervise their direct reports in a manner that is effective, positive, and in line with the company’s core values.
Copy Supervisors must also thoroughly understand the assigned brands, indications, therapeutic implications, and competition as well as regularly research trends in the appropriate areas. Candidates must also be adept at incorporating comments and changes in a timely and intelligent manner and be able to contribute strategically to the long-term vision of the brand internally and with the client. Bachelor’s degree preferred.
