Job Description
The American Physical Society (APS), the publisher of Physical Review Letters, the Physical Review journals, and Reviews of Modern Physics, seeks an editor to take a leading role in developing, launching, and establishing a new online service for the physics and technology communities. The position is based at the APS Editorial Office in Ridge, NY (on Long Island near Brookhaven National Lab and Stony Brook University), although telecommuting arrangements will be considered for highly qualified candidates.

The purpose of this new job is to commission and edit short, expert-written essays describing the most important physics papers. The essays will be readable by a broad audience of physicists from all sub-fields, as well as researchers from other fields of the physical sciences. The job entails close collaboration with editors of the journals of APS, as well as constant interaction with the broader physics research community.
