Job Description
Scientific American seeks a full-time news blogger. Four days per week, the blogger will write 6-8 posts per day on scientific news, based on reports on our website, other websites, and original reporting. One day per week, he or she will contribute regular news and features to the website.

This is not an entry-level position; at least two years of news reporting experience is required. A degree in science or science journalism is strongly preferred; candidates with several years’ experience covering science at another publication will be considered. Programming experience, while helpful, is not required.

The position is based in our Midtown Manhattan offices; telecommuting will not be considered. Promising candidates will be invited to spend a day at Scientific American’s offices blogging, as a tryout.

Salary commensurate with experience.
