SWINY’s Goodbye Benchtop; Hello Laptop:
A careers discussion about taking one’s passion for science into communications careers

Panel discussion on science communications careers followed by Q&A, then networking and information sharing!

Moderator: Beth Schachter — Principal, Beth Schachter Consulting; Partner, Still Point Coaching & Consulting

  • Joe Bonner — Director of Communications and Public Affairs at Rockefeller University
  • Sarah Greene — Managing Editor, Journal of Participatory Medicine
  • Eric Viera — Assistant Director, Office of Technology & Business Development, Mount Sinai Medical Center

Panelists will discuss the ins and outs of diverse science communications careers that meld science knowledge with skill at communicating/translating it. For each career, discussion will consider both “becoming” and “being.” Then we’ll move into networking mode so that more of SWINY’s scientists-turned-communicators can share their knowledge and experiences with you.
