Program Description:
The Department of Urology at the Mount Sinai School of Medicine conducts a number of behavioral research projects, geared towards facilitating treatment decision making, increasing patient knowledge, and improving quality of life.
Position Description:
As an integral part of this research group, we are seeking a highly qualified Research Assistant. This individual will work closely with the Principal Investigator, faculty, and staff members in the recruitment of patients into these federally funded studies. The Research Assistant will identify and approach eligible participants, obtain informed consent, administer questionnaires, and be in regular phone contact with study participants. Additional tasks involve, maintenance of study database, literature searches, managing references, and report writing.
Position responsibilities (will include but are not limited to):
. Recruitment of patients
. Monitoring of daily programmatic and operational activities
. Adhering to and executing of a research protocol
. Generating project related reports as needed
. Health Education to clinic patients
. Assisting in grant seeking and writing
. Data entry
Required Qualifications:
. Bachelor’s degree in Psychology, Health Education, or related health
and social service disciplines.
. Exceptional interpersonal, written and oral communication skills
. Good knowledge of MS Word, Excel, EndNote and preferably SPSS
