Job Description:

Thieme Publishers, a leading international publisher of medical and
scientific books, journals, and electronic media, seeks a
Developmental Editor
in its New York office.
You will work on new products and new editions and be responsible for concept development, project management, author communication, editing of manuscript, and preparation for layout and production. Reporting to the editorial director for educational products, you will also work closely with our editor for electronic products to create electronic solutions for our textbook customers.
Requirements:
University degree preferably in the sciences or pre-medicine, minimum two years experience in developmental editing / project management of textbooks preferred. Mastery of Microsoft Office programs required. A background in medicine, allied health, physical therapy, etc. and/or knowledge of medical terminology or a background in STM publishing is a plus. Fluency in German is also a plus. The ideal candidate will be able to work independently in a supportive environment, and demonstrate excellent communication skills and a strong customer orientation.
