Job Description
The ABC News Medical Unit, headed by Rich Besser, senior health and medical editor, has an opening for a medical researcher in New York for up to two months of free lance work for: a medical reporter with at least five years experience writing for a newspaper; a producer or researcher for a television network or station with at least five years experience; or an experienced scientific researcher with at least a Masters or PhD.

The candidate must be able to quickly research studies, evaluate their quality and write concise evaluations of what they conclude. The candidate also must be able to call and interview leading medical researchers.

The candidate will work closely with and provide research support for Dr. Besser, former Acting Head of the CDC, and work under the supervision of senior producer Roger Sergel, a medical journalist of 30 years. It is possible that this temporary free lance position could lead to a permanent staff position.
