Genetics, physics, Earth science, ecology, cell biology, astronomy, chemistry… Can you help explain why the latest developments in science matter? If you can make complex concepts accessible, can write headings and taglines that excite but don’t resort to clichés, and can handle the English language with an eye for accuracy, we want to hear from you.
Nature Publishing Group seeks a copy editor for a combined position working on Nature and the Nature Research Journals, handling copy written by our award-wining team of journalists as well as by academic authors. You will need to be comfortable dealing with anything from general science news to sophisticated primary research. You will also need excellent time-management skills to balance the rapid turnaround of a news environment with the varied demands of journal production.
You must have a BA or MS and preferably laboratory experience in science (biology preferred), excellent literary and word-processing skills, and experience copy editing a science-related magazine or journal. The ability to use InDesign and InCopy is desirable but not essential. Full-time position with competitive salary and benefits, located in New York City.
