Job Description
The College of Arts and Letters at STEVENS INSTITUTE OF TECHNOLOGY is seeking candidates for a full-time, non-tenure-track appointment as Assistant or Associate Professor for our new Major in Science Communication. The goal of the program is to provide broad training in writing for various media and audiences on the topics of health, the environment, technology, and other science-related topics. Candidates must possess experience as a practitioner of science communication with a distinguished record of publication in major media. Candidates must hold at least a Master’s Degree in Writing, Communication, or Journalism, and have experience teaching at the undergraduate level. Duties will include teaching courses that count toward a major in Science Communication as well as freshman writing courses. Additional responsibilities include advising students pursuing the Science Communication major, helping grow the program, including developing new courses, and assisting with recruiting majors.
