Due to inclement weather, this joint event with ASJA has been rescheduled for March 5.
In today’s digital world, science writers and editors are increasingly being asked to produce “search-engine friendly” documents. That requires understanding the basics of search engine optimization—SEO. On February 5, SWINY will present a focused guide to this powerful technique. You’ll learn about formatting manuscripts to make them show up prominently in online searches. You’ll also learn how to research, select, and incorporate scientific keywords into documents. And we’ll provide an overview of how online pages are structured, including such concepts as title tags, meta descriptions, and header tags. (Come at 5:15 for networking and refreshments.)
Our speakers:
Amin Tehrani, managing director of Revunami, a digital strategic consulting firm whose clients include The Avon Foundation and the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention. Mr. Tehrani had been national director of new media and e-commerce for the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation.
Lisa Chase, associate director of marketing for the Mount Sinai Medical Center. Ms. Chase builds and executes digital strategies designed to raise awareness of Mount Sinai’s expertise in various therapeutic areas. She oversees both content development and search engine marketing campaigns, and manages freelance writers.
