Wednesday, April 3, 6:30 to 8 pm
Science Writers in New York invites you to spend an evening with Gretchen Rubin, who will discuss her new book “Outer Order, Inner Calm: Declutter and Organize to Make More Room for Happiness” (published March 5th, Penguin Random House).
Gretchen will talk with SWINY co-chair David Levine about her book as well as her thoughts on the epidemic of loneliness which she discussed on CBS This Morning in January. She will answer questions about content and craft, and sign books, which will be sold at a discount
Gretchen Rubin is one of today’s most influential and thought-provoking observers of happiness and human nature. In her books, she draws from cutting-edge science, the wisdom of the ages, lessons from popular culture, and her own experiences to explore how we can make our lives happier, healthier, more productive, and more creative.
She’s been interviewed by Oprah, walked arm-in-arm with the Dalai Lama, had her work written up in a medical journal, been the subject of a “The Talk of the Town” piece in The New Yorker magazine, and been an answer on the game show Jeopardy!
Gretchen’s other books, include the blockbuster New York Times bestsellers, The Happiness Project, The Four Tendencies and Better Than Before. The Happiness Project sold more than one million copies, been published in more than thirty languages, and spent more than two years on the New York Times bestseller list, including at #1.
