December 16: SWINY Holiday Get-Together — Have a drink and snacks on us!

Science Writers in New York Holiday Get-Together

Monday, December 16th, 6-8:30

Knock yourself out at

Jack Demsey’s

36 West 33rd Street (between 6th and 7th Avenues)

Named after the great American boxer, Jack Demsey’s is an Irish pub par excellence. It’s located in Midtown, only a few blocks from Penn Station. We have some space on the second floor to meet other writers and make new friends.

SWINY will supply your first drink and treats.

It’s also a good time to recall some of the immortal words of the Menassa Mauler, who appreciated the power of the press. He once said: “I was a pretty good fighter. But it was the writers who made me great.”

He also said something that every writer can relate to in these challenging times: “A champion is someone who gets up when he can’t.”

So let’s celebrate another year in which we’re still on our feet, still swinging, and still writing about the impossible magic of science. Join us starting at 6 pm at Jack Demsey’s at 36 West 33rd Street, between 6th and 7th Avenues.

Looking forward to seeing you there!
