on Zoom

Science journalist Carl Zimmer is writing about the COVID-19 pandemic for The New York Times covering such topics as vaccines, drug treatments, drug testing and coming out of lockdown.

On Monday, May 11th, Science Writers in New York invites you to join us on Zoom for a conversation with SWINY co-chair David Levine. He will talk to Carl about his writing on COVID-19 and we’ll open it up to questions from participants.

Carl began writing about science for the New York Times in 2004, where he now writes his weekly column “Matter.”  He has won many awards for his work, including the Stephen Jay Gould Prize, awarded by the Society for the Study of Evolution to recognize individuals whose sustained efforts have advanced public understanding of evolutionary science. Carl is the author of thirteen books about science. His newest book is She Has Her Mother’s Laugh: The Power, Perversions, and Potential of Heredity.
